What will you post on social media today? It’s a question you’re faced with everyday. Let’s face it; coming up with fresh ideas to post on several different platforms can be tough. Sometimes the idea well runs dry.

Not to worry. We have a list of 9 ideas to inspire new and creative posts for all of your social needs.

1. Celebrate random holidays
holidayThere are all kinds of odd holidays that you can use to promote your products or services. From Margarita Day to Turkey Lovers Month, there’s always a holiday to celebrate. A pizza shop used Dairy Month to post this on its Twitter page:

2. Ask customers to submit pictures of your product in use
Host a contest asking your audience to submit pictures of them using your product. You can ask your fans to vote for their favorite shot and award a prize to the winner. This not only increases engagement, but it also provides a bunch of pictures that you can use in future marketing campaigns.

3. Remind customers about special servicesNewWay
Use your social channels to remind customers about your lesser-known services. For example, a candy shop that sells chocolates at its retail store reminds customers that it can create a great wedding favor.

4. Invite people to an event
Are you hosting a customer appreciation sale, a charitable walk or a karaoke night? Whatever the event is, use social media to invite customers. Check out this post from a bar in Buffalo, NY that uses Facebook to promote its trivia night.

5. Be helpful
What do your customers worry about? What issues do they face? Answer these questions in a social post. Zulily, a retailer, created a ‘back to school checklist’ for its customers and posted it on Facebook. Tide, the popular detergent brand, shared tips on organizing a closet on Pinterest. Offer solutions to common problems that are relevant to your audience.

6. Create a weekly tip
A weekly tip is an easy post. If you sell camera equipment, offer tips to take better photos. If you offer cleaning services, offer tips to keep a home tidy like this post from Merry Maids. Be sure to create a hashtag that you can use with each post. Merry Maids uses #CleaningTip.

7. Share related content from others
You don’t have to create original content everyday, you can share content from other sources. If you don’t have time to find sharable items, you can use a curation tool like Swaay that gives you a daily list of content that’s relevant to your audience.

8. Post quotes
Everyone loves an inspirational quote now and then. Check out BrainyQuote. This site has ready-to-share, well-designed quotes for Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest. Check out this quote shared by a bakery on Instagram.

9. Share news
When something cool happens in your business or industry, share it. When the plumbing industry started using infrared cameras to spot leaks, a plumbing company shared a post explaining how it works.

You can share news about new employees, a remodeling project or changes to your website. Your social sites are a great way to keep customers informed.
